Metro Beach is the home of a nesting pair of Great Horned Owls and their nest of two babies.  The young have been visible over the top of the tub that holds the nest since the begining of May.

2006 Pair of baby owls 2 weeks after banding.


Again this year the nature area at Metro Beach has been home to a pair of Great Horned Owls that has again raised two chicks.  Click on the Owl Gallery to see more pictures and the banding.

This picture was taken on the 3rd of May 2006 in the evening.  Both chicks were very alert and extremely visible above the wash tub that is their nest.
